Come and discover kitesurfing on the Lac de Biscarrosse in the north of the Landes region. Less than an hour’s drive from Bordeaux and 30 minutes from the Arcachon basin, the Biscarrosse / Sanguinet lake is the ideal spot to learn to kite and progress in complete safety in a fabulous setting! The spot offers ideal conditions for learning, with shallow water and a dedicated practice area well exposed to the wind.
Session content and teaching methods
The H2Okite school and its instructors are committed to offering quality teaching. Our ambition is to adapt to each student to enable them to discover the activity in the safest and most enjoyable conditions! So they can progress all the way to independence!
In this context, even in group lessons, the teaching is personalised, and the exercises are adapted to the level and progress of each student (the students are in radio contact with the instructor: radio on the helmet). It is therefore impossible to describe each session to you, which will be adapted to the multiple parameters, level, weather, equipment…
Kitesurfing course
The first session will necessarily be dedicated to discovering the activity and kite piloting, with setting up the equipment, using the safety systems, relaunching, towed swimming…
Then, in the second session, we start working with the board, the water start, the first glides…
Kite zone: the spot is ideal for learning to kite, with your feet up to 400m from the shore! Ideally located, the beach faces west, so the prevailing winds are from the front, which is very reassuring. The take-off and landing areas are reserved and dedicated to this sport. We adapt the hours of practice according to the level of the students and the weather forecast.
Kitesurfing equipment: we have a wide range of kites and boards to suit all levels. Motorboats are available to practise traction in order to progress in gliding.
Equipment: H2O provides all the equipment needed for kite lessons: radio, kite, board, harness, helmet, life jacket, wetsuit and booties.
Our session packages
Group kitesurfing lessons:
4-hour sessions, with 4 students/instructor, take place every day from April to September, weather permitting, generally from 2pm to 6pm.
In the form of a course from Monday to Friday, we allow 5 days for 4 sessions so that we can adapt to the weather.
At weekends, we welcome people who are not available during the week, or who only want to do one or two kite sessions.
Semi-private kite lessons:
2-hour sessions, with 2 students/instructor, to meet special requirements such as supervising children, advanced students, couples or simply people who can’t devote their whole afternoon to kite surfing. The skills acquired are equivalent to a 4-hour session.
Private kite lessons:
A 1.5-hour session with 1 instructor, offering personalised tuition, usually in response to a specific request such as learning to strapless or foil!
